Bringing ML research into practice
dida develops custom machine learning software for the public sector, academia, and industry and enterprise clients, including Siemens, Deutsche Bahn, idealo, klöckner.i and Enpal. Our team combines scientific excellence with real-world business requirements and is committed to the conscious development of AI.
Many of our industry projects start with a concept or evaluation workshop. Together with the client’s decision-makers, we assess use cases and data availability and turn vague ideas into a concrete project roadmap. We are currently expanding this workshop format into a dedicated consulting offering. For this, we are looking for someone with hands-on data science experience and a track record in client projects who takes technical ownership in this early project phase.
Your role: technical ownership in the concept phase
You are dida’s technical voice in the phase where a project takes shape. In the workshop, you sit at the table with the client’s business units and IT. You look at the data and assess what project scope is realistic. You work in tandem with our Sales and Account Management and align solution approaches and effort estimates with our ML Scientists, who take over the implementation of larger projects. Over time, you become dida’s technical face for individual industries.
Your responsibilities
- Lead workshops on the technical side: You prepare the content of concept and evaluation workshops and run them together with Account Management. Your part is the technical depth: you evaluate use cases based on the available data and assess feasibility.
- Dig into the data and build: You analyse client sample data in Python and build clickable prototypes or small demos that make workshop results tangible. For smaller projects, you also handle the implementation yourself. This share grows with the projects we win.
- Technical follow-up: You translate workshop results into a technical roadmap and own the technical part of the proposal, including effort estimation.
- Support sales on the technical side: In discovery calls and on feasibility questions, you are the technical point of contact. Commercial responsibility for accounts, proposals, pricing and negotiations lies with Account Management.
- Develop our standards: You expand our workshop frameworks and templates, which we reuse with every new client.
